I love my life.

In no partiuclar order, I am a graphic designer, photographer, writer, career counselor, partner, friend, daughter, sister, citizen, nature lover, spirit seeker, political junkie... What's not to love?

I have an infinite number of life stories. Here's the professional version:

I have worked as a graphic designer for over 20 years. After graduating from Bard College with a BA in Art History, I freelanced as a production artist before opening my own design studio. For 8 years I worked on the east coast designing everything from business cards to billboards for small to large-scale clients.

In the mid-90s I closed up shop and moved to Prague where I was hired as the Creative Director for The Prague Post. After 2 ½ years of getting to know my Czech family and discovering the wonders of periodical publishing, I returned to the States and found my niche in the magazine industry. I was the Art Director at LANTimes (a McGraw-Hill bi-weekly trade tabloid) and Design Director of InfoWorld magazine (an IDG weekly technology trade). In late 2000, at the height of the dotcom hysteria, I left InfoWorld in search of serenity and balance. I had climbed to the top of the proverbial ladder of success and found it was leaning against the wrong building.

Since then?

After much soul searching and hard work, I have found the serenity and balance we all crave in the form of a life in which I get to do everything I love. Here’s a smattering of past accomplishments and current undertakings:

  • Redesigned and launched Knowledge Management magazine
  • Earned a MA in Career Development from John F. Kennedy University
  • Launched and ran a resume writing service and career counseling private practice (now closed)
  • Designed, launched and currently Art Direct Diversity Woman magazine
  • Wrote and self-published a book of photographs and writing, More Than Meets the Eye
  • Provide career advice to job seekers at NOVA, a one-stop career center in Silicon Valley
  • Learned to build websites and now call myself a web designer!

Like I said, I love my life.
